Saffy

Saffy (Kenmillix Metope at Fassfields) is a super dual purpose bitch whose priority is to work, although she has also had several successes in the show ring.

Originally trained to work for hawk and gun, Saffy is now a valued member of two shoots, working on grouse and pheasant, both rough and driven. She also takes part in grouse counting before the grouse season. She regularly attends gundog training which has given her the opportunity to work with some of the top trainers, on moors in England and Scotland.

According to her owners, Saffy has an overwhelming desire to achieve and please and an eagerness that never fades.

Lightly shown, she has proved her quality in the show ring, this year gaining Best of Breed at Blackpool Championship Show, and has previously been awarded a 1st and a 3rd at Crufts in large Post Graduate Bitch classes, and was also placed 1st in Post Graduate Bitch at Bath Championship Show 2009.

Saffy, who is a medium-sized, robust yet feminine bitch, has an excellent wire coat and a superb temperament.

Brokk has previously been mated with Saffy's full sister, resulting in a strong litter of outgoing and inquisitive puppies, several of whom went to working homes.

For further details, contact Saffy's owners, Gail and John Riley, email fassfields@hotmail.co.uk or phone 01282 602701 / 07800 582398 (Roughlee, Nr Burnley, Lancs).

Judge's critique of Saffy from Blackpool Championship Show

Lovely outline, typical head, good front assembly, correct layback of shoulder, strong topline, correct tailset, well developed body, strong well angulated quarters, outstanding carriage on the move, in lovely condition and very well handled.
